CAUCASIAN LIME (Tilia euchlora) a.k.a. Crimean Lime
This tree has dense branches with rounded, glossy bright green leaves.
The branches are slightly pendulous. In maturity the
Caucasian Lime has a beautiful shape, a round topped cone.
It is a deciduous tree with a moderate growth rate, reaching a mature
height of 15-20m with a spread of 7m.
The bark is smooth and grey with darker grey striations; greyish brown
in older trees.
The bright yellowish white flowers appear in clusters in July.
Caucasian Limes are resistant to aphids. They are highly attractive to
bees and the nectar can have a narcotic effect on them.
